Embark on a visual journey through the heart of France with aMBUSH Gallery’s latest exhibition, Nine, this March.

Madison Baird, Krystal Durant, Elena Hanke, Ollie Henstridge, Mat Hooker, Vicki Potter, Margaret Taylor, Imogen Welch, and Martin Williams are nine recent graduates from Sydney’s National Art School who spent four weeks together in a rustic farmhouse in south-west France.

From sun-kissed days in the garden to cosy evenings by the fireside, each moment was a canvas waiting to capture the memories of these Australian artists, aged 23 to 75 years.

With sketchbooks, collages, and preliminary drawings made on-site, and paintings and sculptures developed in studios months later, each step was held in the same reverence as a finished work. Immerse yourself in the artistic process and witness the diversity of expression that emerged.

Feast your eyes on a rich tapestry of mediums and styles, from ethereal charcoal sketches to bold oil paintings on canvas, marble sculptures, and works on paper.

Opening night is Thursday, 21 March from 6-9 pm, with drinks provided by Capital Brewing Co. Nine will then be open to the public from Friday, 22 March to Sunday, 24 March between 12 noon until 4 pm each day.

Don’t miss this opportunity to be transported to another place by the power of art.
