YES – it’s a word of power and a celebration of art. Join us for the annual art exhibition that embodies positivity and empowerment. YES 2023 brings together a vibrant collective of 15 talented LGBTQ+ artists, commemorating the sixth anniversary of Australia's resounding 'yes' to equal marriage rights.

Returning to aMBUSH Gallery Sydney for the third time, YES invites you to explore a rich tapestry of themes. From examining the representation of the queer community in mainstream media and our consumer-driven society to delving into the history of motifs, body representation, love, and the intricate intersections with topics like race, neurodiversity, and chronic illness, these artists have crafted a thought-provoking journey.

With a deep-seated belief in providing a platform for LGBTQ+ artists, YES breaks free from the constraints of traditional galleries. We aim to showcase art that belongs equally in a gallery and a living room.

Experience the vivid, validating, and diverse world of LGBTQ+ art, where standardisation is left at the door. YES is your window into a world of unique experiences and artistic expressions.

Presented and produced by aMBUSH Gallery in collaboration with curator Bowen Halkett, YES 2023 features artists Bowen Halkett, _disinhibition, Easton Dunne, Evie Hilliar, Fergus Berney-Gibson, Jeni Mulvey, Joyce Cheng, Maya Mulvey-Santana, Patrick Krzywicki, Ritual.44, Revi Tait, Rex Turnbull, Sam Gatsby Lim, Vomitrox, Will Thompson
