Art by Great Women - International Women's Day
‘Art by Great Women’ is a visual celebration of International Women’s Day 2024 featuring a showcase of talent from some of Australia’s most exceptional Indigenous and non-Indigenous women artists, on display at Citigroup Centre Sydney.
March 8th marks International Women’s Day, a global occasion honouring the social, economic, cultural, and political advancements made by women worldwide. It serves as both a celebration of past accomplishments and a call to action for continued progress towards gender equality.
In recognition of the IWD 2024 theme, ‘Count Her In: Invest in Women. Accelerate Progress’, this exhibition shines a spotlight on the remarkable achievements and contributions of women in the arts.
From the diverse perspectives and talents of Nanami Cowdroy, Tamara Dean, Jessica Cochrane, Laura Wills, Rebecca Selleck, Noni Cragg, and Bindi Cole Chocka, this inspiring display of creativity and empowerment brings art beyond traditional gallery spaces to brighten daily life.
Presented by Citigroup Centre and curated by aMBUSH Gallery, ‘Art by Great Women’ honours their invaluable contributions and paves the way for a more inclusive and equitable future.
