First Nations artist David Cragg evokes both a sense of place and urgency with his unique series of sculptures depicting 14 birds native to the places he calls home \u2013 Cadigal Land (Sydney) and Wodi Wodi Land (Illawarra).<\/p>\n

David\u2019s use of Australian forestry Formply and leftover supplies salvaged from construction sites to make his sculptures highlights a sad irony: that this very same material, which is produced from unsustainable logging and building practices, is in turn is responsible for the birds\u2019 loss of habitat and subsequent dwindling populations and migration.<\/p>\n

The artworks also speak to Australians of all backgrounds about the importance of a national movement where we engage in challenging conversations in order to understand our history, heal from its wounds, and find a unified future.<\/p>\n

\u2018A Little Bird Told Me\u2019 is on display in the lobby of Sydney\u2019s Liberty Place from 27 May until 22 June.<\/p>\n
