Matthew Gillett\u2019s new exhibition My Art Kills Monsters is the culmination of five years and a healing journey in a visceral collection.<\/p>\n

What began as a life changing creative sabbatical in Bali has reached fruition for this adrenalin-charged passionate surfer and one time manager of the Annandale Hotel during its halcyon days in the Sydney music scene.<\/p>\n

Proudly supporting mental health charity beyondblue, My Art Kills Monsters is an entirely immersive experience of vivid, textural bold works. <\/p>\n

Bursting with intensely personal painting, music, film and photography, it places viewers before each artwork and an adjacent AV station with time lapse video and original music from one of Australia\u2019s hottest bands.<\/p>\n

My Art Kills Monsters proudly supports and emulates the Hope, Recovery, Resilience tenets of beyondblue and facilities will be available to donate any amount via the Everyday Hero<\/a> fundraising partnership.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy Art Kills Monsters is, at its core, the recipe I have used to kill, and to continue to kill, my monsters,\u201d the artist says.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope that my story gives hope and sparks conversation in others to start a conversation that will break down the walls associated with mental illness, freeing others and saving lives in the process.\u201d<\/p>\n
