YES Exhibition is an annual art event based in Sydney on Gadigal land that celebrates the anniversary of Australia voting ‘yes’ to equal marriage rights.
The exhibition celebrates the incredible diversity that exists within the LGBTQ+ community. Every experience is as unique as the individual. Therefore, the exhibiting artists are given creative liberty in what they create. The diversity of the art is unified in that each work encapsulates an aspect of the artist’s queer identity and experience.
Since 2018, the exhibition has provided a platform for LGBTQ+ artists to showcase and sell their work. Artists from the LGBTQ+ community have historically lacked opportunity to have their artwork displayed and sold. YES Exhibition was created with the purpose of exhibiting saleable artwork that can proudly sit in an exhibition space as well as an individual’s living room. Since its conception, YES Exhibition has showcased over 40 artists, including some who had not previously exhibited work in a public gallery.
Join us for this year’s edition of the YES Exhibition at aMBUSH Gallery, opening Thursday 14th November 6-9pm with drinks from Capital Brewing. Public viewing will continue from Friday 8th to Sunday 10th November, from 12-4pm.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the diverse artistic expressions of 14 creatives. Admission is free, so come and enjoy this captivating showcase!
