Nature has long been a source of solace, inspiration, and reflection. In Sun It Rises, a group of contemporary artists channel the profound influence of the natural world, reflecting on landscapes both real and remembered.
The exhibition explores the way place, memory, and experience intertwine to shape our perception of beauty and meaning. From vibrant abstractions to deeply personal interpretations of the environment, Sun It Rises captures the essence of light, form, and feeling. This collection of works invites audiences to slow down, take in the details, and appreciate the fleeting yet profound beauty of the world around them.
Presented by Liberty Place and curated and produced by aMBUSH Gallery, Sun It Rises brings together the works of Victor Shergill, Nastia Gladushchenko, Michael Black, and Micke Lindebergh. Though diverse in technique and medium, each artist examines the shared experience of existing within—and being shaped by—their natural surroundings. Their works celebrate the quiet majesty of landscapes, the emotional resonance of place, and the ways in which nature’s rhythms inform their artistic practice.
Running from 17 March to 3 May 2025, Sun It Rises offers a moment of reflection on the good in life—the warmth of the sun, the familiarity of home, the landscapes that shape who we are, and the power of nature to inspire and transform.
