In 2014, the renowned international Stencil Art Prize joined forces with aMBUSH Gallery, exhibiting 65 stencil artists’ work from 18 countries.

The annual Stencil Art Prize brings together stencil artists from around the globe, and in 2014 they came from as far abroad as Argentina, Scotland, Iran, Turkey, Thailand, Norway, Japan, France and Mexico for the exhibition which was held for the first time at aMBUSH Gallery’s space in Waterloo, Sydney. Audiences were wowed by stencils on everything from an electric guitar, skateboards, denim jackets, cardboard boxes, a vintage metal oil sign, reclaimed IKEA furniture board, rusty metal plates, paper, board and traditional canvas.

Australian artist, 23rd Key, was the 2014 winner of the $3,000 cash prize with her portrait titled ‘Duality’ which depicted The Living End’s front man Chris Cheney.
