As part of National Reconciliation Week 2022, Indigenous artist David Cragg conducted a three-day live painting session, creating a colourful contemporary work depicting locally significant bird species, to raise funds for the Koori Mail Bundjalung Community Flood Relief.

Produced by aMBUSH Gallery and presented by Darling Park, the live art event observed this year’s National Reconciliation Week theme of ‘Be Brave. Make Change’, which challenges all Australians— individuals, families, communities, organisations, and government—to tackle the unfinished business of reconciliation for the benefit of all Australians.

David is an artist of First Nations, Irish and Scottish descent, working as a muralist, designer, writer, builder, photographer, sculptor and youth/disability community worker.

His live painting invigorated the public space in the lobby of Darling Park, and allowed the public to engage with him about matters of art and Indigenous culture.
