NAIDOC Week Live Screen Printing at Liberty Place

First Nations artist Adam Leng was commissioned to create a series of original artworks for the activation. In collaboration with Fresh Tees Syd, participants selected their preferred design and tote bag colour before watching the artwork being screen printed live, creating a unique piece to take home.

The activation highlighted screen printing as a tactile and collaborative art form, giving audiences insight into the process behind each print and the resurgence of handmade production.

The experience also featured Indigiearth, a wholly Aboriginal-owned business specialising in native Australian foods and botanicals. Participants explored a selection of essential oils, jams, chutneys, herbs and spices made with native ingredients, with products included as part of their take-home experience.

Bringing together contemporary art, live printmaking and native products, the activation created an accessible opportunity for the Liberty Place community to learn, participate and connect with First Nations artistic practice, ingredients and relationships to Country.
