Louder Than Ever celebrates the vital voices and enduring heritage of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists. On display in the lobby of the Citigroup Centre, this collection offers a poignant reminder that the fight for justice and equality is far from over.

Running from 22 May to 15 July, the exhibition coincides with National Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC Week, echoing the themes of connection, respect, and action. As visitors explore the diverse works on display, they’ll encounter a compelling range of expressions – from bursts of colour to serene contemplations – that reflect the multifaceted identities of Indigenous communities.

Featuring the creations of artists Alex Birdfox, David Cragg, Konstantina (Kate Constantine), Michael Jalaru Torres, Lakkari Pitt, Maddie Gibbs, and Judith Crispin, the exhibition spans a variety of genres and styles.

Visitors to Louder Than Ever will encounter artworks that engage the senses and provoke deep reflection. Displayed on sleek alu-panels, with a vibrant colour palette that ranges from earthy tones to bright hues, this collection showcases a diverse range of mediums, including paintings, photography, and mixed media.

Each piece invites the viewer into a vivid world, whether it’s traditional dot paintings, symbolic dreamscapes, native birds and animals in a painterly realism style, or meticulous photography that captures candid human subjects.

The themes are varied and evocative; from joyous scenes of people to contemplative landscapes and detailed depictions of native birds and animals, the exhibition encapsulates a broad spectrum of Indigenous experiences.

Louder Than Ever also invites viewers to engage with the ongoing journey toward reconciliation. It’s an opportunity to challenge and confront views on racism, embrace truth-telling, and commit to a future where the history and achievements of Indigenous peoples are celebrated and respected.
