An intimate round-table discussion with artists Gudrun Gut, Jasmine Guffond and Gail Priest, moderated by FBi Radio host Brooke Olsen.

The discussion about the role of women in the arts has been alive for decades, and is revived whenever devastating statistics are being revealed – be it Triple J’s Hottest 100 or the Oscars. Today we will hear from three strong women who have all fought independently to leave their mark in a sector that is still dominated by male protagonists.

Gudrun Gut, Jasmine Guffond, and Gail Priest have been important figures in the international experimental music and arts scene for many years. Operating in a sphere far from mainstream culture and stereotypical ideas, they have established outputs for female creativity – not only as active artists, but also as organisers, activists, panelists, and writers. All three of them have performed in Berlin, Sydney, and many places between.

The talk is at aMBUSH Gallery, as part of the public program for the GENIALE DILLETANTEN exhibition.

It will be moderated by Brooke Olsen, herself an important person in Sydney’s music and arts scene, known mainly as the host the FBI Radio program Ears Have Ears. For more information, please visit the Facebook event page here.
