L’étranger is an exhibition of recent works from ten emerging artists, whose unique artworks are anchored by central themes of the strange, the unknown, the unfamiliar and the ethereal.

The artworks are creations borne of dreams, pure emotion, unencumbered exploration and personal experiences, but seen as if through the eyes of a stranger, with fresh perspectives that add depth and intrigue to their interpretations.

The multifaceted collection from the Sydney, Melbourne and Lismore-based artists includes painting, photography, and sculpture, with the line up of artists including: Adrian de Georgio, Bahman Kermany, Brad Robson, Cappy Hardaker, James Lesjak, Liam J Ambrose, Monique La Fontaine, Rosa Spring Voss, Tracey Deep, and Zelko Nedic.

Curated by Federica Iozzo and Miya Spears and presented by aMBUSH Gallery, L’étranger highlights the mysterious yet powerful notion of expressing encounters with the magical, peculiar or subconscious.

Don’t miss this captivating group show that’s driven by a strong sense of curiosity and a desire to delve into darker concepts of new, exotic and strange situations, places and people.

Opening night will include a live DJ performance on Thursday, 24 August from 6-9pm at aMBUSH Waterloo Gallery, 4a James Street, Waterloo. The exhibition will continue daily from 12-4pm until Monday, 28 August.
